Huntingdon Stags have finished their pre-season preparations in the best possible fashion by beating a competitive March Bears side 40-14.
In their only pre-season outing before the league starts this coming weekend, Stags showed great intent with the ball, demonstrating how they'll want to play this season.
The Stags got the home crowd excited with some fluid attacking play, scoring six tries, including two from first-phase attacks.
Huntingdon worked to try and keep the ball alive and stretch the March defence at every opportunity.
They also made life difficult for their opponents defensively, staying well-connected and forcing several kicks in behind, only conceding two tries.
Head coach Simon Leader said: "I am pleased with how today went.

"Thanks to March for coming down and giving us a really competitive game.
"We are showing glimpses of the shape we want in attack, and our defence was solid and impressive, and we now look forward to St Ives next week.
"They have just come back down to this level, and so it will be a great test for us to see where we are at right at the start of the year."
St Ives host Huntingdon Rugby Club in the first Counties 2 Midlands East South fixtures this Saturday, September 2.
