New Saints Boxing Club's Tobias Taylor has struck gold for England at the GB Junior & Youth Three Nations Championship, winning the title of best junior boxer in Great Britain.
Representing England in the Junior 80kg category, 14-year-old Tobias travelled to Motherwell on June 3-4 to face off in a tri-nations style competition against the very best of Scotland and Wales.
On Saturday (June 3), in the box-offs, the St Neos boxer took on Scotland's Harris Birnie and skillfully took control of the bout early on.
Tobias picked off the stocky, onrushing Birnie with some excellent boxing on the back foot, scoring a knockdown on the way to a unanimous points win.
Waiting for Tobias in the final was another Scot, the towering 6'6" George Willis.
This time Taylor was the aggressor, forcing Willis from pillar to post with powerful shots to the head and body.
Following two standing counts, the referee waved the contest off midway through the third round, awarding the title to Taylor.
The victory adds to Tobias' ever-growing list of titles, backing up his national title win in March.

New Saints Boxing Club's chairman and trainer, Kev Bullus, said: "As a club, we are hugely proud of his achievements, with three national titles, a Great Britain junior title and a European schools title in the last two years.
Tobias is now preparing for the European Junior Championships in Romania in July with a series of residential squad camps starting this weekend in Oxfordshire.
