St Neots Town dropped further into relegation peril in Pete Gill’s last game in charge as they slumped to their second heaviest away defeat of the season.
Robbie Mason’s second half goal proved a consolation for St Neots in their 5-1 thrashing at Boldmere St Michaels on March 18.
And as a result, St Neots slipped into 18th place in the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands after fellow strugglers Dereham Town won at Loughborough Dynamo on the same day.
That defeat was the final match under Gill, who joined the club in May 2021, after he resigned on March 20.

Joe Rider, Lewis Hook and Panny Boxer were absent from the squad, while top scorer Trey Charles moved into the starting line-up alongside Mason, Joe Tarpey and Charlie Lewis.
The hosts opened the scoring after six minutes when Curvin Sanderson-Ellis beat goalkeeper Tom Finch from close range after meeting Aris Christophorou’s cross.
Mason forced a good save from home ‘keeper Kieran Harrison, as Boldmere pounced on a broken attacking move from St Neots to score a second through Owen Parry.
It was 3-0 when 10 minutes before half-time, Jack Burgess’ free-kick took an awkward bounce inside the far post.
Lewis then deputised in goal for St Neots after Finch picked up a knee injury when trying to deny Michael Tait-Moran scoring a fourth goal for Boldmere on 56 minutes.
The visitors then enjoyed their best spell of the game, as Albert Adu was twice denied a goal, before Mason scored his fourth league goal this season 15 minutes from time.
Andre Brown added a fifth for Boldmere after winning a late penalty following Aaron Smith’s foul.
Sean Greygoose and Marc Abbott will take charge of St Neots’ remaining games, starting with Bedworth United at the Premier Plus Stadium on March 25, 3pm.
