Godmanchester Rovers had goalkeeper George Whitehall to thank for their latest league point after he pulled off a man of the match display.
Whitehall made a number of crucial stops in either half on February 11 to deny visitors Rothwell Corinthians a fourth win in 19 United Counties League Premier Division South games this season.
And the youngster’s star performance at the David Wilson Homes Ground ensured Rovers boss Dean Greygoose felt pleased with the goalless draw
“It was a cracking game; there was some typical non-league stuff going on, both teams had good chances and we had to battle,” he said.
“George is only 19 and I know how good he is, but some of their chances came from us doing silly mistakes. which could have cost us.”

The stalemate was Rovers’ fifth league clean sheet so far this campaign but should have made a breakthrough on several occasions.
Top scorer Matty Allan’s second half header which rebounded off a post was perhaps the closest they came, as Rovers missed out on the chance of claiming a top 10 place.
But the entertaining contest allowed Greygoose to name defender Steve Sylvester from St Neots Town as well as 16 and 17-year-olds in his squad.
“We’re a young team and looking at the bigger picture, it's great,” Greygoose added.
“I think Rothwell gave us a tougher game than some of the top-of-the-table teams we’ve played, but as we’re a young team, we’re going to switch off.
“There were times where we made the same mistakes we’ve been making all season; young players get tired mentally but we kept at it and got a clean sheet.”
Godmanchester visit Coventry United on February 18, 3pm.
