Golfers have made history after reaching a national finals for the first time.
Brampton Park Golf Club’s ladies’ section were one of 360 teams to compete in the Annodata Golf Classic.
The tournament is a singles matchplay competition where teams of five play with a maximum course handicap of 24.
The team won seven matches on their way to the finals at the Montecastillo Golf Resort in Cadiz, Spain, the first men’s or ladies’ team from Brampton Park to reach this stage.
“It’s a hell of an achievement,” Shirley Osborne, who will be squad captain at the finals, said.
Brampton Park will be joined in Spain by Glenbervie Golf Club, Scotland, Tandridge of Surrey and Sand Martins, Berkshire.
Shirley and the team would ideally like to raise around £5,000 to help fund some players’ trips to Spain for the finals between March 6-10, 2023.
