It was another tough day for St Ives as multiple changes failed to arrest their losing run.
Head coach Paul Humphreys’ side went down 46-0 at Bugbrooke in the Midlands League Counties 1 Midlands East (South) on November 5, despite a close first 30 minutes.
Ives, who have lost six straight league games, were unable to build on positive approach play as Bugbrooke breached the away defence after the half-hour mark.
Bugbrooke scored again to make it 15-0 at half-time, before a second half that the hosts started brightly.
A speculative kick took a wicked bounce from a covering Ives defender as Bugbrooke hoped to take advantage, and did so before four further tries.
“That was another tough day at the office,” said Humphreys.
“The boys can be proud of the performance they put in. Especially the lads we called in a short notice, who did not let themselves down.”
St Ives host fellow strugglers Dunstabilians on November 12.
