St Neots Hockey Club Men's 1s couldn’t build on their hard-working victory in their previous game after they narrowly lost 2-1 at home to Cambridge South 3.
The Women's 1st team also suffered a defeat, losing back-to-back trips to Norfolk, where they were beaten 4-1 by Norwich City 2s.
The Men began their game positively and created numerous chances, which they couldn’t take until Pat Keogh swept in a pass after 10 minutes.
Unfortunately for the Saints, they couldn’t take advantage of their strong start, and South found an equaliser.
South took the lead before the break, but despite a final flourish, the Saints could not equalise and were disappointed not to take any points from the match.
In the women's 1s game, the first half was very cagey, with neither team taking their chances.
However, Norwich were more clinical in the second half, scoring four goals.
Saints eventually found a breakthrough goal when Emma Ritchie flicked a short corner routine into the net.
Both sides will look to rebuild next weekend, as will the men's 2s, 3s and women's 2s, who also lost.
The men's 4s did salvage a point, but the women's 2s came away with the only victory, defeating Cambridge South 4 by three goals to one.
