A care home in Huntingdon hosted a wellbeing day to showcase community support.
Ferrars Hall Care Home in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, organised the event on Saturday, September 21, to highlight the wellbeing support available to the local community.
Several influential services and organisations attended, including Anglia Healthcare and Mobility, the Huntingdonshire Society for the Blind and Vision Impaired, Physiotherapy Cambridgeshire Community Rehabilitation Ltd, the Macular Society, and Mobile Dental Services.
The event provided a platform for these organisations to share information and resources to help individuals maintain their independence and improve their health and mobility.
Caroline Ignatius from The Devika Care Company, who attended the event, said: “It was such a pleasure to be part of the Wellbeing Day at Ferrars Hall Care Home.
"I’ve been working closely with the team here and regularly run Dementia Day Centre sessions each week, on Wednesdays and now starting on Fridays from 10 am to 3 pm.
"These sessions are dedicated to enhancing the lives of those living with dementia, focusing on social interaction and personalised care.
"We also offer families an afternoon of respite, knowing their loved ones are receiving the support they need.”
Katie Peters, senior customer relations manager at Ferrars Hall, described the event as a "fantastic event" that highlighted the "wide range of support" available to the local community.
She said: I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the local groups who participated and showcased the incredible work they do.
"By bringing together representatives from key health and care organisations, we created a unique opportunity for the wider community to discover and connect with essential resources that might otherwise go unnoticed.”
