A former Masterchef contestant and the founder of the St Neots Walk and Talk 4 Men group joined forces to host a men's mental wellbeing event.
Dr Rob Howlett, who was a contestant on the popular cooking show in 1991, teamed up with Justin Leigh for a wellness programme hosted by Purple Horizons at St Neots Golf Club.
The event saw a group of men talk about their vulnerabilities and break the stigma around men's mental health, as well as provide each other with practical advice in life.
Some of the topics discussed include heart health, prostate health and testing, testosterone, diabetes, lifestyle choices, and their mental health.
Dr Howlett and Justin Leigh both shared their knowledge and experience with mental health and encouraged other men to find their very own "recipe" for a happy and healthy lifestyle.
Not only did the event inspire men to open up about their mental health, but £500 was raised for the St Neots Man Cave.
The St Neots Man Cave is a community space for men to connect with each other and get creative.
Members of the Man Cave make and create all sorts of projects, including birdhouses, garden benches and refurbished bicycles.
In August 2024, the Man Cave celebrated being in the community for two years and supporting people throughout.
John Williams, a member of the Man Cave, said at the St Neots Golf Club event: "We at the St Neots Man Cave provide a safe environment for all men to engage socially whilst expressing their creativity through practical activities.
"We believe in the power of conversation and connection, and so this evening aligned perfectly with our mission to support men in all aspects of their health."
Justin Leigh added: "Too often, we wait for a health crisis or a significant problem before seeking support, and this event helped to change that mindset."
