Godmanchester's Youth Council has celebrated a decade of championing young voices.
The milestone was marked with a small gathering involving youth councillors, town councillors, and the mayor.
The Youth Council was established under the leadership of Councillor Sarah Conboy, who took charge of youth matters, and has since welcomed residents aged 11 to 23, providing them a platform to express their perspectives and contribute to policy ideas.
Operating independently, the youth council sets its own agenda and learns about the community, aiding in bridging the gap between the local government and the younger population.
Councillors Conboy and Susan Lawson facilitate the youth council's meetings, which are held monthly during school term times.

Youth councillors also take part in civic events and support the mayor's fundraising activities.
Mayor, Councillor Alan Hooker expressed his appreciation, highlighting the fresh perspective and the reminder the youth councillors provide about building a future-friendly town.
