A popular St Neots cafe has been forced to shut today after significant flooding.

Ambiance Cafe at the Riverside Car Park announced it was temporarily closing due to "water outside the premises" on September 28.

In a statement posted of Facebook, the owners said: "I'm afraid we are unable to open whatsoever due to the levels of water outside the premises. We are extremely sorry for this and hope everyone is safe.

"If anybody requires any help, please get in touch with our page. Lots of love to you all."

It comes as residents across St Neots continue to experience significant disruption after the River Great Ouse burst its banks on Thursday.

Fresh flood warnings have been issued after a week of torrential rain saw the River Great Ouse reach its highest level on record.

A total of five flood warnings and four flood alerts are in force across the district today (September 28), with the Environment Agency warning residents to 'act now' as water levels continue to rise.
