The personnel at RAF Wyton held a Thanksgiving and Dedication service on the evening of September 15 to commemorate the Battle of Britain.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Huntingdon, Cllr Karl Brockett and Mrs Julie Brockett, were joined by Huntingdon Town Councillors and civic guests from nearby towns (and military bases), Air Cadets and Sea Cadets, residents and visitors to help mark this significant date in history.
Cllr Brockett said: "As Armed Forces Champion for Huntingdon, and being a Royal Navy veteran, I wore the Fleet Air Arm tie to honour the 57 Royal Navy aviators that joined the Royal Air Force and pilots from many other allied countries in the first major military campaign fought entirely by air forces.
"Our thanks got to the Station Commander, RAF Wyton, and the service personnel for putting on such an important service of dedication, to the civic guests taking part, residents and visitors.
"But, most important of all, to the brave members of the Armed Forces who took part in the Battle of Britain, We Will Remember Them.
