Organisers say a volunteer fair held in Huntingdon was an "undeniable success", providing ample opportunities for community involvement.

Huntingdon Volunteer Fair, orchestrated by Hunts Forum of Voluntary Organisations, took place at the Maple Centre on Oxmoor, on September 4.

More than 25 charities and groups were represented at the event.

Free to the public, the fair provided a platform for locals keen on contributing to their community through volunteering work.

The event featured organisations such as Cambridge Rape Crisis and Safe Soulmates, offering a variety of ways for attendees to get involved - from utilising specific skills to gaining work experience and meeting new people.

Hunts Forum took to social media to share event highlights, encouraging those who missed the event to explore opportunities through the Volunteer Cambs database.

In addition to promoting volunteer opportunities, Volunteer Cambs also streamlines the volunteer recruitment process with various features on their online platform.

The forum expressed its satisfaction with the turnout and anticipates the positive impact of apparent new volunteer connections.
