Students at St Ivo Academy have achieved "academic excellence" following A-Level success this morning (August 15).

The St Ives school is celebrating a brilliant set of results, which Principal Tony Meneaugh said is down to the "commitment and determination" from pupils.

Some of the high performers at St Ivo Academy are:

  • Nathaniel Edgley, who achieved three A*s in physics, mathematics and further mathematics, and will study mathematics at the University of Warwick
  • Tommy Frear, who attained an A* in chemistry and two As in mathematics and physics, to go on to the University of Bath to study Chemical Engineering
  • Alfie York, who achieved two A*s in art and an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), an A in politics and a B in economics
  • Hannah Simpson, who attained three As in history, law and physical education
  • Ben Clinton, who achieved four As in economics, history, media studies and an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
  • Hannah Barker, who attained an A* in her Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), two As in art and media and a B in history
  • Rhys Street, who achieved two As in mathematics and physics and two Bs in further mathematics and chemistry

Principal Tony Meneaugh said in full: "This is a fantastic set of results from our students who have put in so much hard work. I have been so impressed with their commitment and dedication to achieving academic excellence.

"I would also like to thank my staff team who have been such a support to the students. We wish all our students the very best in their next steps."

A spokesperson from the Astrea Academy Trust, which runs St Ivo Academy, said: "Staff at the St Ivo Academy have worked incredibly hard to ensure their students were as prepared as possible for their A Levels and beyond."
