Digital visitor information and wayfinding screens are set to appear across Huntingdonshire.
Plans were submitted to Huntingdonshire District Council for digital screens to be built in various towns across the district.
Last week (beginning July 29) the District Council approved the plans for the seven new screens.
They are set to have information on them, including maps, and are set to drive up visitor economy in Huntingdonshire towns.
In the Heritage Statement provided in the planning documents, it states: "Whilst the screens are a modern addition to the towns, we hope that the basis of information and styling will emphasise the historic and traditional features that we can offer.
"We have chosen to employ an artist to provide hand drawn maps which will form the basis of the screen landing pages. We hope these maps will provide a more sympathetic and in-keeping visual for our historic market towns."
Where will the new digital screens be?
- The Norris Library and Museum in The Waits, St Ives
- St Germain Walk, Huntingdon
- Farmers Market, Tolls Sheep Market, St Ives
- The Library, Priory Lane, St Neots
- Initiative House, Great Whyte, Ramsey
- Rivermill Apartments, Great Whyte, Ramsey
