A pub in St Neots has been given the green light to have a marquee up in their garden after the community came together to support it.
The Bell in Great Paxton was forced to submit a planning application to Huntingdonshire District Council for permission to have a marquee in the garden after they received a complaint.
After the application was submitted to Huntingdonshire District Council, locals rallied round in support of the High Street pub's plans.
Many letters of support were submitted to the council in the application. One letter said that the marquee is an "amazing asset to the pub" and that it would be a "shame to lose it".
Another resident said that the marquee brings "many benefits" to Great Paxton. Great Paxton Parish Council also supported the plans.

On Monday, July 29, Huntingdonshire District Council granted the pub planning permission - much to the joy of The Bell.
In a statement, the pub said: "Our marquee has been given full approval after one complaint!
"We are fully legal and can continue running. This is amazing news and we thank our customers and supporters for all your help! We are so happy!"
