The worldwide Microsoft IT outage is affecting several services in Cambridgeshire this morning (July 19).
It was reported at 8am this morning that broadcasters had come off air, airlines had been grounded and banks weren't operating after a global Microsoft IT outage.
Services in Cambridgeshire have been struck down as well with trains not running, supermarkets unable to take card payments, and our nearest airports in chaos.
The Greater Anglia trainline, which runs through Cambridgeshire, has been affected by the outage. A spokesperson confirmed it in the following post on X:
⚠️ We are aware of the mass IT outage. Some of our stations are affected by this & it is being investigated with high importance.

The Great Northern line also runs through the county and has been affected by the outage.
The Waitrose and Morrisons supermarkets in St Ives reportedly had issues with card payments this morning too. Screwfix in March reported their own issues as well.
The Press Association has issued an alert regarding GP surgeries, stating: "The IT outage is “causing disruption in the majority of GP practices” in England but there is currently no known impact on 999 or emergency services, NHS England said."
Cambridgeshire Police and Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue service have confirmed that the outage is not affecting their systems. The East of England Ambulance Service has been contacted.
The North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust and the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust has also been contacted for comment.
Luton Airport and Stansted Airport are both reporting issues with their IT systems too:
