A drink driver who crashed into an oncoming vehicle while three times over the limit has been sentenced.
Jekaterina Stecjuka was driving a Vauxhall Insignia on Longstanton Road in Over at about 11.20pm on May 9 when she collided with a Mercedes car.
The 30-year-old, of Tower Close, Over, blew 108 at the roadside, more than three times the legal limit of 35 microgrammes per 100 millilitres of breath.
She went on to provide an evidential reading of 69 in custody.
At Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday July 4, Stecjuka, was disqualified from driving for 20 months after pleading guilty to drink driving, driving without a licence and without insurance. She must also pay a £392 fine.
PC Donoghue-Rowe said: “On this occasion it is lucky Stecjuka didn’t do any harm to the other driver, or herself.
“There is no excuse for drink driving and we urge anyone who knows a drink driver to report it to us.”
