Avril Lavigne took to Bedford Park's Summer Sessions' stage on Saturday night, ahead of her dazzling Glastonbury debut on Sunday. 

Visitors to the Bedford show were treated to a sneak-preview of what festival-goers at the legendary Glasto were in for - and needless to say, the pink-haired rocker did not disappoint.

Following an intense build up complete with nostalgic videos looking back at her 22-year career, the show kicked off with 2007 hit 'Girlfriend', delighting fans of all ages.

Plenty of pink confetti filled the skies throughout the perfectly-balanced setlist which consisted of fan favourites from all of Avril's eras - including 'Losing Grip', 'Complicated' and 'Sk8r Boi' to the later, but still as fantastic 'Here's to Never Growing Up', 'Love It When You Hate Me' and 'Bite Me'. 

A few lucky audience members were invited up on stage to help Avril - and support act Phem - perform a cover of Blink-182's hit 'All The Small Things'. 

Slowing things down during the encore - where Avril and the band certainly left the crowd wanting more - the 39-year-old star returned to the stage for a final three belters.

Pulling at the audience's heartstrings, the show ended on 'Head Above Water', 'When You're Gone' and 'I'm With You'. 

As the sun shone on the picturesque park, UK chart-toppers The Lottery Winners and US alt-pop starlet Phem delighted concert goers throughout the day while waiting for Canadian-born Avril to grace the stage.

The weekend of star-studded performances was wrapped up by Jess Glynne on the Sunday, with a fresh round of concerts to come this weekend.

Welsh legend Tom Jones will take the stage on Thursday (July 4), followed by Pete Tong Ibiza Classics on Friday (July 5). James on Saturday and Nile Roger & CHIC on Sunday.
