A man has denied causing death by careless driving whilst unfit through alcohol after a pedestrian died in a collision between Pondersbridge and Ramsey Mereside.
Marcin Pilarski, of West Street, Chatteris, also entered not guilty pleas for failing to stop at the scene of a collision, driving with no licence and driving with no insurance.
He appeared at Cambridge Crown Court on Tuesday (June 18) where his trial was listed for the week commencing July 7, 2025.
It is expected to last between four and five days.
Pilarski, then 33, was charged following a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle on Oil Mills Road on the evening of May 11, 2024.
Samuel Pope, 28, of Lincoln Road, Peterborough, died at the scene of the incident.
An inquest was opened into his death on Thursday (June 20) with a brief hearing held at Peterborough Town Hall.
Simon Milburn, an area coroner for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, gave a provisional cause of death as traumatic head and facial injuries.
The matter was then adjourned for a hearing to be fixed on a future date.
