A Huntingdonshire scout group has launched a new troop due to increasing demand.
The 1st Southoe and Buckden Scout Group embarked on the venture, which caters for boys and girls aged between 10 and 14, due to a surge in children on their waiting list and numerous cubs ready to transition.
There are already 20 participants in the new troop, which holds sessions every Wednesday at their headquarters on Lucks Lane.
Activities enjoyed by these eager participants include camping, learning magic tricks from a magician, day trips to London, tackling an escape room and even kayaking.
The scouts are also taught vital emergency aid.
The exciting roster for the upcoming months features backwoods cooking, climbing, an expedition obstacle course and a thrilling sleepover on HMS Belfast.
Sebastian, a scout, said: "I really love what we do.
"This includes the range of activities and the independence we are given over what we want to do.
"We are given lots of opportunities to decide what activities we would like to do."
Another member, Martha, who joined when the second Troop opened, said: "I really liked camp, making food on the campfire and going to London."
Danika, the lead volunteer for the group, said: "It’s wonderful to be able to introduce young people from our village to scouting.

"The best bit about being a volunteer is seeing our scouts enjoying the activities, earning badges and learning skills for life."
She further added, "All of the children in the group will learn and develop skills ranging from teamwork and independence to leadership and decision making."
The scout group has also sent out a call for more volunteers, offering a multitude of roles ranging from helping with the children to background roles including tasks such as helping at camp, serving as a trustee or taking care of administration or shopping duties.
