Katie Kitson, from the Hunts Community Cancer Network (HCCN), provides an update on recent fundraising activities.
Throughout the month of May, HCCN held the first ever, HCCN BIG Afternoon Tea month, where they invited people to host an event .
It proved to be a massive success for them and they would like to extend a massive 'thank you' to everyone who has taken part.
From an exercise class tea party, to community groups, pubs and individuals, as well as HCCN, it was quite literally a jam-packed month.
Kicking off the event was The Comrades Club, in Godmanchester, who provided enough cake to feed a small army. Everyone walked away smiling and many had goodie bag.
On Sunday, May 12, HCCN held its own BIG Afternoon Tea, at Buckden Towers.
On the same day, making the most of the sun, saw the King family hosting their own big afternoon tea in their garden, surrounded by friends and family.
Throughout the month, HCCN also saw many other BIG Afternoon Teas taking place including a group called DSM with Lynne who held a tea party after an exercise class.
The White Hart in Warboys also hosted a coffee morning, and the Allen family held a truly unforgettable event when Liz and Diane were so busy they had to get more tables and chairs.
It has been amazing to see all the different ways people have got involved, and had a lot of fun in the process.
It has been a joy chatting to everyone in the lead up, during and afterwards, and hearing how much fun they all had.
We can’t thank everyone enough - both those hosting and those attending - thanks to them, they have helped HCCN raise vital funds to help ensure that HCCN can continue to provide free support to those 18+ in Huntingdonshire on a cancer journey.
