Afternoon tea events have been taking place across Huntingdonshire to raise money and awareness for the Huntingdonshire Community Cancer Network (HCCN).

HCCN and its supporters took part in the first-ever BIG Afternoon Tea month which also coincided with the charity's rebrand.

The rebrand was officially launched at the group's Spring Conference at Brampton Golf Club where guests enjoyed tea and cakes.

Russ Edgar, from Velocity Design Marketing, the company behind the design of the new logo, attended the event.

“Being entrusted to collaborate on this project for such a remarkable charity was truly gratifying” he said.

"The new branding was met with a great positive reception."

HCCN also held an afternoon tea at Buckden Towers on May 12, thanks to support from event sponsor Beacon Wealth Management.

Individuals, groups and businesses came together to support and celebrate HCCN and help them raise more money to continue providing free support to adults, in Huntingdonshire who are on a cancer journey.

The Huntingdon Ukulele Group (HUG) provided the entertainment and as well as performing for free, they presented HCCN with a cheque for £500.

Graham Heywood, HCCNs chairman was there to receive the cheque on the charity’s behalf.

“For HUG to support HCCN today for free, and fundraise themselves throughout other events is really heart-warming and we are very grateful indeed,” he said.

HCCN has also thanked volunteers who helped out which included Community Champions from Tesco in St Neots.

Tony Larkins, managing director of event sponsor Beacon Wealth, said: “It was great to see the support that HCCN has and it was an honour to play a part in that.

"They are a great charity that my own family has experience of using, so I know first-hand how important they are to those going through their own cancer journey.”.

HCCN raised almost £1,400 on the day, and would like to thank everyone for their support.

They would also like to thank everyone who is hosting their own HCCN Big Afternoon Teas this month and can’t wait to share more about what everyone has been up to.
