A hedgehog medical centre has received a £1,000 boost thanks to a donation from a Cambridgeshire housebuilder.
Redrow South Midlands, currently constructing homes at Alconbury Weald II on Senliz Road, gave money to Hartford Hedgehog Rescue.
This charity provides care for unwell, injured and orphaned hedgehogs throughout the county.
The donation will go towards fitting out their new hospital facilities and covering vet bills and medications.
Hartford Hedgehog Rescue is one of six such services in Cambridgeshire, all operating at maximum capacity.
The charity is volunteer-run and solely reliant on donations.
Suzanne Tibbetts, the founder of Hartford Hedgehog Rescue, said: “This is such a fantastic donation for us as it will have a huge impact on the number of hedgehogs we can rescue.
"As a charity, we rely on kind donations such as this to enable us to keep providing care to unwell, injured and orphaned hedgehogs across the county.”
Andrew Newman, head of sales for Redrow South Midlands, said: “We are delighted to be supporting Hartford Hedgehog Rescue with the incredible care they offer our hedgehog neighbours."
