A man has been jailed for indecently assaulting two boys in the Cambridge area in the 1990s.
Michael Speed, 67, assaulted the boys when they were aged between seven and 13.
One of the victims was attacked on multiple occasions during a six-year period. The other was assaulted when he was aged 12 or 13.
The assaults happened both in public and in a property in the Cambridge area.
Speed, of Lichfield Road, Cambridge, admitted five counts of sexual assault.
Today (May 7) at Cambridge Crown Court he was jailed for eight years.
DC Eleanor Jaggard said: “This case once again shows that time is not a barrier to bringing people to justice.
“I would like to commend the victims for their bravery in reporting what happened to them all those years ago.
“Speed preyed on them in a despicable way, so I’m pleased he has now been jailed.
“Tackling sexual offences is a priority for the constabulary and we will continue to do all we can to bring perpetrators before the courts.”
Survivors of sexual violence can have confidence the police and other partner agencies will support them throughout the investigation and criminal justice process.
If you or someone you know has been the victim of a serious sexual offence, there are support options available on Cambridgeshire Constabulary’s rape and sexual assault webpage.
