Rail passengers are being warned as the latest round of train strikes threaten to disrupt bank holiday travel.
Workers from The Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen (ASLEF) Union are set to go on strike next week (beginning May 6), with disruption lasting until Saturday, May 11.
As a result, Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) is "urging" customers to plan ahead of any travel they intend to make over the next week.
What trains are running and when?
Over the Bank Holiday, there will be planned engineering works taking place which will impact services.
GTR has confirmed that there will be no trains across the majority of the Southern, Thameslink, Great Northern and Gatwick Express network on Tuesday, May 7.
The only trains that will be running on May 7 will be very limited shuttles on the following routes:
- London Victoria - Gatwick Airport (Southern services)
- London St Pancras - Luton/Luton Airport Parkway (Thameslink services)
- London King's Cross - Cambridge (Thameslink services)
In addition to the strike action on May 7, there is a nationwide ban on overtime in place by the ASLEF Union.
That means that from Monday, May 6 until Saturday, may 11, there will be an amended timetable in place for all GTR services.
During the overtime ban period, GTR will be running fewer services that will be much busier than usual.
Customers planning to use GTR services between May 6 - May 11 are encouraged to check times before travelling.
