Renowned reggae artist Julian Marley, son of the legendary Bob Marley, is to perform at the Cambridge as part of his tour this summer.

His latest tour follows his success with the 2024 Grammy Award-winning album 'Colors of Royal' - a collaboration with Antaeus.

As the son of Bob Marley, Julian continues to carry the torch of reggae music to new heights, and has become a global ambassador for reggae.

His performances have been described as a "captivating blend of reggae, roots and dancehall, spreading messages of love, unity and social consciousness".

Julian's hits include 'Boom Draw' and 'Systems', and he has performed at both small venues and massive festivals.

Aside from his latest album, Julian has released four solo albums; 'Lion in the Morning', 'A Time & Place', 'Awake' and 'As I Am'.

On the night, Julian will be joined by special guest, Captain Accident.

Combining ska, dub, rocksteady and rock-driven soulful roots reggae, Captain Accident creates a unique blend of music from his home studio in Cardiff.

Captain Accident has gained substantial recognition over the years, with extended tours across the UK and Europe, numerous festival appearances, and radio airplay.

A description of the performance from Cambridge Junction says: "With soulful vocals, soaring twin guitars and a truly infectious groove, there’s no standing still when Captain Accident and his clumsy companions hit the stage."

Captain Accident and his band, The Disasters, were personally chosen by reggae stars, Toots & the Maytals, for their 2016 UK tour.

The band then received an invitation to perform as full-tour support in 2017 and 2018, performing at some of the UK’s most prestigious venues including the London Barbican Theatre, Brighton Dome, Manchester Academy, Nottingham Rock City and more.

During Toots’ 2017 'Bands in the Sands' appearance, the Captain was asked to join the band onstage to perform Monkey Man on guitar.

Julian Marley & The Uprising, supported by Captain Accident, will perform at Cambridge Junction (J1), with doors opening at 7pm on Thursday, June 27.

Tickets, £37, are available from the box office by calling 01223 511 511, or via www.junction.co.uk.
