Colts football teams in Warboys will be able to develop their skills, thanks to donation from a sports fund.
The £75,000 donation is from the Gigaclear Rural Sports Club Fund which aims to support teams based in rural communities.
Warboys Colts U-13s, U-15s and U-17s currently play in the Cambridge & District Colts League with the U-7s, U-8s, U-9s, U-10s, U12s all playing in the Hunts Youth League.
Sports equipment including training dummies and balls will help young footballers develop their shooting skills and help them progress.
Warboys Colts FC Club secretary Kelly Ashurst and Welfare officer Kerrie Bryan agreed that having the additional coaching equipment was already having an impact. They said the dummies helped add an extra dimension to the players’ training regime, particularly when practising set plays.
They said: “We’re really grateful to Gigaclear’s fund for supporting our rural club.”
