Benjamin Hendy, 41, has been jailed for stealing two bikes in Huntingdon.
Hendy cut the lock to a £550 bike on Princess Street on September 5, 2023.
On September 20, 2023, he stole a bike worth £1,400 off of a train at Huntingdon Train Station.
Hendy was captured on CCTV both times.
At Cambridge Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, March 5, Hendy was sentenced to 30 weeks in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of shop theft and two counts of bike theft.
He also activated a previous suspended sentence.
PC Louise Plumridge, who investigated, said: "For many people a bike can be a lifeline as their only method of transport and/or their tool for exercise.
"We recognise the impact these thefts can have on people's lives, and we're committed to catching those responsible and putting them before the courts."
