A St Ives family and business are taking on a 350 mile cycle challenge in memory of Adrian Layton.
Adrian worked at Magdalene Logistics, which is based in St Ives, for 15 years.
He sadly passed away in September 2023 after being diagnosed with stage four kidney cancer.
In honour of Adrian, his colleagues at Magdalene Logistics have decided to take on a mammoth cycling challenge to fundraise for Addenbrooke's Hospital.
Addenbrooke's Hospital cared for Adrian during the last few months of his cancer battle.
The challenge, which is being completed on an exercise bike, will see members of Adrian's family and his former colleagues cycle a whopping 350 miles in his memory.
The 350 miles is the equivalent distance from the Magdalene Logistics office in St Ives to the office in Coatbridge, Scotland.
The challenge began on March 4 and is being completed in a "tag team" format over the next five days.
Adrian's wife, Wendy, and his daughter, Sophie, joined his colleagues at the start of the charity bike exercise, with Wendy being the first to kick off the event.
Speaking about Adrian, his colleagues said that "never a day goes by when we, in the Logistics team, walk past his old desk and miss the Big Man not sitting there and engaging in conversation or general banter with us."
The team at Magdalene Logistics have set up a fundraiser for Addenbrooke's Hospital, which can be found on Just Giving.
The link to the fundraiser is here.
The team have already smashed their initial target of £1,000 and are hoping to get even more funds by the end of the week.
We're wishing them lots of luck as they complete the 350 miles!
