A Huntingdon based cancer support group has received £1,100 in funds from the St Ives Rotary Club.
Acorn Cancer Support Group are the latest charity to have been nominated and receive funds from the Rotary Club.
The President of St Ives Rotary Club, Rotarian Sally Heffer Miller, presented the cheque of £1,100 to the Acorn Chairman, Simon Townsend, at the Acorn Group's St Ives meeting on February 21.
The funding comes just after the group celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Simon Townsend said: "The group was set up to try and help fill a gap that existed in the NHS services.
"I believe that this is still the case many years later."
The Acorn Cancer Support Group have continued to give comfort and support to cancer patients and their carers since the end of the Covid-19 pandemic.
A spokesperson said: "Many patients report that they feel like they're left in the wilderness after intensive treatment, and this leaves them feeling lonely and isolated.
"Networking with others is vital for them to continue their successful pathway through cancer.
"While many find it a big step to venture through the doors initially, most find comfort in being able to network with others familiar with cancer."
