The opening date and time for the brand-new B&M store on St Germain Walk, Huntingdon, has been confirmed.

The store will open its doors on Friday, March 22 at 8am.

The news of its opening date and time comes with the announcement of 48 new jobs for local people.

Ahead of its opening, B&M staff were asked to nominate a local charity to officially open the new store.

Godmanchester Foodbank has been selected as the VIP charity, and representatives will be at the store on March 22 to welcome shoppers in.

Godmanchester Foodbank provides three days of balanced emergency food and support to local people.

The new store manager for B&M Huntingdon said: "We're feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.

"Godmanchester Foodbank really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done.

"We hope that our donation can help them continue the great work they do."
