The 1st Southoe and Buckden Scout Group planted a new hedgerow to support a charity in memory of Vhari Russell's brother, who died of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.
25 of the Scouts, Cubs and Beavers, as well as their parents and leaders, spent Saturday, February 10, planting a new hedgerow at Lakes Ashmore in Hemingford Grey.
The day of planting saw 1,500 trees planted along the lake, in the hope that they will provide vital habitats for birds, animal and insects.
Some of the trees planted include a hawthorn, blackthorn, hazel, dog rose and spindle.

The plant initiative was in support of the Creating Nature's Corridors charity.
The Creating Nature's Corridors charity was founded by Vhari Russell, whose brother died from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome in 2018.
The charity will be back at Lake Ashmore on February 16 to complete 500 metres worth of planting on the new hedgerow.
Creating Nature's Corridor's aim is to plant 10,000 new trees per year, and it's well on its way to do that as there are several more planting days scheduled in before the end of March.
After Saturday’s tree planting event, Russell said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to the Cubs and Scouts, they were such a wonderful team to help on Saturday.
"We can’t achieve the creation of wonderful new hedgerows and habitats without amazing volunteers.
"Planting with the next generation is so important as they will be able to enjoy our plantings for years to come.”
Anyone is welcome to sign up to a planting day with Creating Nature's Corridors, whether that be someone on their own or an entire group.
You can sign up to one of the many planting days that are planned via the charity's website, which you can find by clicking here.
