Brampton-based charity Creating Nature's Corridors is working hard this winter to improve the environment by planting more than 19,000 trees and hedging plants.

More than 80 per cent of these will be planted in Cambridgeshire with plantings happening at Huntingdon Racecourse, Paus, and Liquid Skillz in Hemingford.

"We know we are in the midst of a climate emergency and we need to plant more trees, combined with the impact of record rainfall a couple of weeks ago and the highest level in local rivers for 30 years," said founder of the Creating Nature's Corridors group Vhari Russell.

The charity will be planting on the following dates and would love some extra helping hands:

January 26 at Huntingdon Racecourse and January 27 at Huntingdon Racecourse.

February 10 - Liquid Skillz Lake Ashmore, Gore Tree Road, Hemingford Grey, PE28 9BP.

February 16 - Huntingdon Racecourse and February 17 - Huntingdon Racecourse.

The group is looking for volunteers to help with the planting. You can sign up at: https://www.creatingnaturescorridors.co.uk/.
