The Soke Target Sports Club is now back in business in a new location at Alconbury Weald.
The club was located in an aircraft shelter but had to vacate that building in January to allow for development.
The landlord at Alconbury Weald, Urban and Civic, kindly provided two former bomb stores on the north of the Weald and club members have been hard at work transforming these old buildings into first-class ranges.
The air gun range has six lanes with variable distances up to 20 yards. This range has a unique returning target system which allows all six lanes to operate independently and continuously.
The disciplines available are standing and benchrest rifle shooting together with air pistol shooting.
The rimfire range also provides six lanes at 20 yards for both prone and benchrest shooting.
This range meets the stringent requirements of the National Smallbore Rifle Association and the Home Office. The disciplines available are prone and benchrest shooting.
"The club has an active membership with an enviable record in both local and national shooting competitions, the club told The Hunts Post.
"Most members have their own equipment but the club has excellent air and rimfire rifles which are available, on loan, to new shooters.
"Target rifle shooting is a sport for all ages and genders and we offer support to those who are physically disadvantaged. Many wheelchair users compete on equal terms."
