A new food and drink retail park has opened across 20 acres of farmland in Huntingdonshire.
Based on the edge of Elsworth village, the fourth generation family farmers behind Frank’s Farm have converted old farm buildings into shops.
There is a deli and café, sourdough baker, butcher, cakery, biscotti and pasta, and ‘tasty Saturday’ tastings in the deli.
The owners plan to operate as a regenerative vegetable grower in surrounding fields, as well as open a restaurant, micro brewery, cookery school, grain mill, dairy with milk and cheese from cows in the park, olive grove, as well as citruses and avocados grown in polytunnels.
Frank’s Farm was named after the founder Anthony Davison’s great grandfather Frank Davison who bought the farm 100 years ago.
Anthony Davison, director of Davison & Co & Frank’s Farm, and BigBarn CIC, said: “The food park is a place where local people, the school, farmers and food business come together to trade, communicate and celebrate seasonal foods and, in the process, build a sustainable, healthy, inclusive, enlightened, foodie community."
