Renowned historian David Starkey is coming to Huntingdonshire to give a talk on Henry VIII.
Starkey will be giving a candle-lit supper talk at St Mary's Church, in Godmanchester, on November 18, and the event starts at 7pm.
Tickets are available from Adrian Sington on: 07770 638193 or Kate Hadley on: 01480 454154.
The event is aimed at raising money for the church. Two registered charities, The Friends of St Mary’s Church Godmanchester and the Godmanchester Museum, want to raise £1.5million to renovate part of the church.
They want more space to accommodate historical artefacts discovered locally, such as jewellery and exquisite pots, dating back to the Roman era.
Currently the Godmanchester Museum, founded in 1982, is located within the Queen Elizabeth School building and is only open to the public 14 days each year. and events.
"Many of the artefacts have to be stored in other museums, as we have no space, so the creation of a designated home within the church would enable us to display them locally, within a permanent setting," said Joy Leney, committee member of the Friends group.
