Talented teenage cyclists at St Ives Cycling Club (SICC) have enjoyed mixed fortunes in their recent races representing the club.

Isaac Pembury and Charlie Coad-Bell are both part of SICC's development squad and took part in two different races recently.

Isaac was racing in the West Thames Crit Series at the Hillingdon Crit Circuit on September 30 and finished an impressive third place over the three-lap course.

With more than 30 riders competing, including several riders from the strong London Forge team, Isaac kept with the leading pack and positioned himself to sprint up through the places with 100m to go.

However, he could not get around the rider ahead into second and settled for a podium finish and a terrific third place.

Despite losing positions on the third lap, he pulled himself together to finish 17th overall and a respectable sixth out of the junior racers.

Charlie said: "It wasn't my best race, but we all have bad days."
