The first St Neots Micro Festival has highlighted to organisers a "hunger" in town for more things like it after hundreds enjoyed an afternoon of live music and fun.
The Neotists, who also organised the St Neots Festival, held the pop-up event on the Market Square to increase footfall in the town and give people a compelling reason to visit the centre.
Crowds were blown away by performances from headline act Dylan and the Moon, the St Neots-based cover band The Arcades and the family trio My Girl the River.
Director of the Neotists, Clair Slade, said: "It was brilliant. I think the takeaway from everybody who attended was that it felt similar to the festival; it had the same kind of atmosphere.
"We were pleased with the turnout because it was never too many people, and it wasn't too few, it was just loads of smiling faces; it was great.
"It just had that lovely atmosphere, and it was nice because, with all the complaining about parking and people wanting it as a car park, it just showed them that this can be so much more.
"This is the heart of St Neots.

People brought their own chairs to bask in the sunshine for the event on September 2 and could also indulge in street food from Little Dutch Bites and craft beer from local business Shumë, which had completely sold out by the end of the day.
Clair said people were "buzzing" after the festival, particularly after Dylan's performance, amazed by his talent and stories.
Local businesses also profited from the bustling town, with Betty Bumbles Vintage Tea Room reportedly stating they had the best day that they've ever had since opening.
Clair added that the Neotists are now discussing how they can do more things, like the Micro Festival, to help reignite and maintain the excitement and energy in the town, reducing the car park mentality and boosting a more sociable outlook.
