Stagecoach East has announced a series of upcoming timetable changes to their bus network in Huntingdonshire. 

The changes aim to enhance capability, punctuality, reliability and also add additional journeys. 

The amendments, which are due to come into effect from Sunday, September 3, will affect routes into Cambridge including Citi 5, Route F and Busway A. 

Managing director of Stagecoach East, Darren Roe said: "At Stagecoach East, it is hugely important to us that we offer our customers the outstanding levels of service that they have come to expect.  

“We are at the very heart of our communities, and we take our responsibilities seriously to keep them connected.  

“Part of that ambition means making occasional changes to the timetable to improve services over the long-term.” 

Key highlights of the bus service changes are as follows: 

  • Route F, Fenstanton-St Ives: Evening journeys will be introduced from St Ives Bus Station to Fenstanton at 18:25 and 18:40 Monday to Saturday, in addition to the current timetable. 
  • Citi 5, Longstanton-Bar Hill-Cambridge: Service changes will offer greater capacity and a new direct link between Bar Hill and St Ives. Some morning journeys towards Cambridge will now start at St Ives Park & Ride before traveling to Longstanton andjoining the current route into Cambridge. These services depart St Ives at: 04:48, 05:18, 05:48, 06:18 then 06:53, 07:23, 07:53 and 08:23. Some evening trips from Cambridge will continue on to St Ives after Longstanton. These services depart Cambridge at: 17:20, 17:50, 18:20, 18:50 then 21:15 and 22:15. 
  • Busway A, St Ives-Cambridge: Changes will be made to improve capacity on Busway journeys. This service will no longer serve St Ives Morrisons in both directions, terminating at Marley Road Industrial Estate. The current short trips between Trumpington and Addenbrookes will run until 16:00 Monday to Friday giving a ten-minute frequency between the two sites. Additionally, there will be limited stops along Histon Road to shorten journey times, the service (inbound and outbound) will now only stop at the Akeman Street bus stop on Histon Road. 

Passengers are encouraged to check the updated timetables for specific journey details. 

As well as the above, there have been some timetable changes to Stagecoach buses which operate in and around the Cambridge area.
