An assisted living complex in Huntingdon hosted a street party on Friday, May 5, to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.
Fern Court is a purpose-built project which accommodates up to 13 people with mental health issues.
The complex offers tenants support with their mental health needs and daily living skills for an average of two years, preparing them to live independently in the community.
On May 5, most of the tenants and neighbours from the local community attended the complex’s street party.
Coronation banners and bunting was hung around the complex ahead of the event.
Brian Todd, who works for Sanctuary Supported Living as a mental health support worker, and is based at Fern Court, said: “Unfortunately the weather let us down, so we had to retire to an on-site office.
“Most of our tenants attended, as did neighbours from the local community.”
He added: “We saw this as the perfect opportunity to promote tenant/community integration, especially as some of our neighbours do not really know what Fern Court is all about.”
