A new exhibition at St Neots Museum will feature the work of Turkish-born artist Naz Saunderson.

Naz was born in Turkey, although she has lived in the UK for the last 20 years, and is currently in Istabul visiting relatives.

The temporary exhibition is called 'A World of Colour' and is open now and runs till March 11.

Liz Davies, curator of the museum, hopes people will support the event as well as make charitable donations to support those affected by the disaster.

"Naz is currently in Turkey visiting relatives in Istanbul and I have not been able to contact her, although the Istanbul area has not been affected by the terrible earthquake.

"I am sure that Naz and her family are as devastated as everyone else by the disaster which has happened in southern Turkey and Syria. If anyone visiting he exhhibition wants to make a donation to help those affected by the earthquake, they can donate via: https://donate.redcross.org.uk/appeal/turkey-syria-earthquake-appeal.

Liz adds: "Naz’s paintings have filled the temporary exhibition gallery with colourful images of flowers and landscapes, so brighten up your February by visiting this vibrant exhibition.

"All the works are for sale and are priced at between £50 and £75.00, so call in and have a look and perhaps take home a slice of sunshine."

Naz was born in Turkey, and spent her early years in the vibrant and beautiful city of Istanbul.

She married an Englishman and settled in the UK and has been painting for 10 years.

"Due to my Turkish background I have brought with me an insatiable joy of colour, which I try to bring to my work. If my paintings make you smile or think then I have achieved my goal. I hope you enjoy viewing my work as much as I have enjoyed painting them."
