Newmarket Racecourse has announced this morning (Friday) that George Ezra is the latest artist to confirm for its Newmarket Nights season.

Ezra, one of the biggest selling male artists of the decade, will appear at the venue on August 17 and tickets are on sale on Tuesday (January 30) at 8am.

He joins James Blunt (June 29) Craig David (July 20) and Plan B (July 27) on the Newmarket Nights bill, which includes a racing programme before the artists take to the stage.

Ezra debut album Wanted On Voyage was among the top 10 biggest-selling albums in 2014 and 2015, reaching Number One in the official UK chart and spending 122 weeks in the chart overall. In little more than 18 months Ezra went from virtual unknown to one of the international breakthrough artists of recent times: taking in a top 10 album in 10 countries; three sold out UK tours; nominations for four BRITs, one BBC Music Award and an Ivor Novello Award. He’ll be releasing his highly anticipated sophomore album Staying At Tamara’s, on March 23.

Amy Starkey, regional director east of Jockey Club Racecourses, said: “We are very much looking forward to welcoming George Ezra to the Newmarket Nights stage for the first time. George has been a firm favourite of the festival circuit for a few years, so we are delighted he will be joining our sizzling hot music line-up this summer.”

Tickets are priced from £26 and are available from the website at: www.thejockeyclublive.co.uk,
