Locals were invited to Little Gransden village hall last week to enjoy a delicious Ukrainian buffet as part of the worldwide fundraising event, Cook For Ukraine.
More than 25 people were in attendance, encouraged to make a donation on the day and bring a Ukrainian dish like Borscht, cakes or whatever they liked.
The event took place on March 25 and was also accompanied by Ukrainian music, decorations, sunflowers and posters for everyone to appreciate.
Organiser Jenny Jefferies said: "I just felt like as a community we could do something to help because I think a lot of people feel quite helpless and not quite sure what to do.
"It was a really lovely atmosphere, it was a really good day, and lots of people donated lots of Ukrainian food."
Cook For Ukraine is a worldwide initiative that invites anyone to fundraise by cooking and donating to JustGiving. All proceeds will be directed to UNICEF UK’s Ukraine appeal, supporting children and families.
The total raised from the event was £883.95, which also includes £221 in profits and donations from the local Reading Rooms.
If you wish to donate, you can still do so by visiting www.justgiving.com/fundraising/cookforukraine.
